Application for a residence permit

Foreigners are not permitted to stay on Dutch territory for longer than 3 months without the permission of the government. Those who wish to stay longer must apply to the Aliens Police for a residence permit. We can support you with this application so that you are not alone

Work permit

A work permit (also known as a work permit) is required when someone from outside the European Union (the EU countries include: Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece) or the European Economic Area (the EEA countries include: the EU, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland) enters the Netherlands and plans to work for more than 3 months. If this is the case, he must first obtain a provisional resident permit (MVV: authorization for temporary stay) at the Dutch embassy in his country of birth. This also applies to foreign nationals with the nationality of the countries that were admitted to the EU on 1 May 2004 (Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Malta, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic).

For US, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Australia residents, it is not a requirement to have an MVV (Provisional Residence Permit). But to work in the Netherlands, they must meet strict requirements set by the Immigration office. To successfully apply for an MVV you must have evidence of a real job prospective in the Netherlands (draft employment contract and supporting letters from your employer).

In the Netherlands, a work permit must be submitted by your potential employer to the CWI (Center for Work and Income). As the CWI handles all procedures of the employment permit, your employer must submit all necessary documents to this organization.
